Close by, the village of Meikleour boasts the Meikleour Beech Hedge which was planted in 1746 and is officially recognised as the tallest hedge in the world.

Blairgowrie is also the gateway to Glenshee.  Originally famed for its fantastic winter sports including skiing and snow-boarding this splendid mountainous area now caters for year round outdoor sports such as mountain biking, abseiling, hang gliding and paragliding.

Of course, we can’t talk about sports in Blairgowrie without mentioning golf.  Blairgowrie Golf Club boasts the award winning Rosemount Course, which is to be home to the junior Ryder Cup next year. You will also find the Landsowne Course and a fantastic 9 hole in the Wee Course, a challenging 32 Par.
