Living in a rental can sometimes not feel as homely as you would have hoped. Making a house a home can be easily done with a couple of changes that can make a big difference.
Next Home we have put together a couple of tips that could help you change your rental for the better!
Fill your home with your favourite items– This could be anything from books, items you have brought back from a holiday or even gifted items. These things relating to memories or someone important to you can be the perfect decoration for your home filled with happiness and memories that will last a lifetime.
Bringing nature into your home– Flowers and plants always make a house a lot brighter but if you feel like you don’t have the time to look after a plant then why not buy some artificial plants- they can look just as good with no maintenance!
Pictures and wall art– Pictures full of memories can make the perfect addition to your home and a great reminder of good times. Wall art & mirrors can fill up any blank walls that you feel like something is missing. (but make you ask permission before boring holes into the walls!)
Colours– Your rental may be neutrally decorated to fit everyone taste… this may not be what you would of liked though…why not add some colours through pillows, throws for the sofa/bed and even a cosy rug can make all the difference.
Ask your landlord!- The worst they can say is no! If there are things you would like to do to the property, always ask your landlords permission. Your landlord may be more than happy to let you make changes to the property as it may increase the value but it is always best to ask before starting something.
