Can a picture really paint a thousand words?

Can a picture really paint a thousand words?

Next Home believes so yes!!

Here at Next Home our valuations team has years of experience in photographing properties and know just how to get that perfect image but, sometimes they need a little help from you too!

Most images are taken from the door way of the room so have you got a large piece of furniture right next to the door? Such as a bed or sofa? If you can adjust it slightly so it is further away from the door it can give the illusion of space in an image.

Open blinds and curtains to let as much light in as possible – potential purchasers love to see that a property is bright and airy!

Break out the duster! Cast a critical eye over any shelves, side tables or reflective surfaces – viewers are keen to see that a property is clean. Otherwise it can bring concerns about how well the property is maintained overall!

Declutter! Sometimes when people are moving because they have outgrown their current home – if a property was initially lived in by one person and now by two this can create a lot of excess stuff! So, if you can’t declutter permanently try popping some items in the car, garage or shed whilst the photographs are being taken! Such as, shoes, cots, children’s toys, pet paraphernalia – again will help to create the illusion of space.

Here at Next Home we have an experienced team of valuers with extensive photography knowledge and we work along side our Professional photographer Graham to make your home look as good as possible – we also offer Virtual Tours (see our blog below on how this is also an effect selling tool!)
